Model Railways On-Line - The Swanage Branch
Frame captured from video The Swanage Branch This short feature of the Swanage Branch was filmed on the 10th and 11th of July 1963. The locomotive, which features in most of the shots is Class M7 0-4-4T no.30108 working push-pull with BR auto sets made up of converted surplus Maunsell stock. The final shot was taken on 13th August 1981. No.30108 has been modelled by Hornby. The prototype was known affectionately by railwaymen as 'Rosebud'. Stickers depicting pink roses were placed in the 0's of the number on the loco sides. They can just be seen in several of the shots in this film. Hornby omitted to include these stickers in their model. There has been some debate over their exact colour. However, I can confirm they were a pale pink when I made this film. Please note this is a silent film. Copyright Paul Plowman. The size of this video has been set to actual size. Enlarging the dislay will not improve the quality.
