Paul Plowman retired in 2004 from a career in railway civil engineering spanning 38 years.
He specialised in permanent way design and was fortunate to be involved in several major projects. He was responsible for the planning and design of new permanent way layouts at London Victoria, London Waterloo, London Fenchurch St. and Belfast Great Victoria Street. More recently he occupied the position of Trackwork Design Engineer for the Thames Valley Section of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link. He was the first person in the UK (possibly the world) to use a computer to design a switch and crossing layout in 1980.
He retired from the position as Technical Adviser to the New South Wales Government for the alignment and permanent way design of the Epping to Chatswood Rail Link, a new underground line around the north of Sydney, which opened in 2009.
He is a professional member of The British Computer Society and a Chartered IT Professional.

Graham Plowman joined the IT industry in 1987, working for many major corporates including Sun Alliance Insurance Group, NatWest bank, Virgin Atlantic Airways, News Limited (News Corporation) and the Australian Government Department of Defence.
He founded GPP Software in 1995, a company providing IT development, project management and consultancy services. Initial projects were for desktop and corporate business applications, but more recently, corporate web sites.
He is a professional member of The British Computer Society and a Chartered IT Professional. He is also a professional member of the Australian Computer Society.
